The latest models and ensembles still reasonably agree to hold a
shielding mid-upper level ridge along/south of the islands over
the next week. Fast flow with a progressive/energetic system track
and associated frontal focus is mainly held to the north of the
state. In this pattern, expect generally below normal trades,
moisture, and rainfall over Hawaii. Light showers are possible,
especially when a front stalls near the western islands heading
into the weekend and allow some lead moisture return into the
islands, but otherwise limited moisture will reduces chances of
moderate or heavy showers statewide.
