Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 730 AM EST Tue Feb 03 2015 Valid 00Z Wed Feb 04 2015 - 00Z Wed Feb 11 2015 An interesting weather pattern continues for much of the next week as a series of progressive embedded systems work through fast westerlies that dominate the mid-lower latitudes of the Pacific. Models and ensembles show quite similar larger scale flow evolutions. A guidance composite is thus favored to mitigate lingering smaller scale detail and system timing variances, but overall the periodically wet pattern offers above normal predictability. Lead main impulse tracks aloft to the north of the state supports the gradual passage of a moisture and rainfall focusing trailing surface front across the Hawaiian Islands over the next few days. A relatively dry period seems to develop Friday through the weekend between significant systems. Another organized system passage aloft and even deeper low to the north of the state then may force another moisture and rainfall focusing surface front underneath across the islands around next Monday/Tuesday.
