Both the operational GFS and ECMWF continue to indicate that
Hawai'i will remain in an unsettled pattern until early next week
when a ridge finally builds. The flow is an unusually protracted
westerly one, so expect some atypical terrain to net larger
rainfall amounts. In general, the northern island should get more
rainfall. By next Thursday, February 19, a new cold front is
progged to approach from the west, with the ECMWF showing more
progression toward the state than the GFS which is a bit blockier
downstream to the east of the islands.
