Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 754 AM EDT Tue May 05 2015 Valid 00Z Wed May 06 2015 - 00Z Wed May 13 2015 Latest guidance displays good agreement with the overall forecast through early next week. Expect moderate to brisk trades from now through next Tue. High pressure initially to the northeast of the state will give way to a high tracking across the central Pacific and settling over a position to the northeast of the area by Sun-Tue. This latter high may support somewhat stronger trades by the weekend. During the course of the period ridging aloft to the northeast of the state should weaken while another ridge builds to the west/northwest, leading to a more northerly component of flow aloft over the state. Primarily windward focused showers should be of light to moderate intensity most of the time with precipitable water values forecast to be in the 0.75-1.25 inch range, perhaps lowest around Wed.
