The global numerical guidance indicates that the trades will
continue to prevail across Hawai'i for at least the next week. The
most recent GFS and ECMWF show a little more mid-level moisture
breaking off from the westerlies and tucking across the state
during the period, affording fuel for more shower activity even
away from the favored orographic regions. The deep-layer moisture
associated with the ITCZ is progged to stay to the south. Five-day
QPF through 00Z/16 Saturday for the windward exposures is
generally in excess of 0.25", with locally higher
amounts--particularly on the Big Island.
