Generally quiet pattern for the 50th state with slowly decreasing
PW values this week. Recent 00Z/06Z GFS runs still insistent on
bringing a surge of > 1.75" PW values to the region Thursday but
this still has basically no ensemble support. By late this weekend
into next Monday, ensembles suggest upper ridging should be poking
northeastward just to the NW of the island chain while the
deterministic GFS/ECMWF vary on flatter ridging or lingering
troughing. For now will prefer any of the ensemble means. Trades
should resume its typical flow later this week after a few days of
being weaker than average.
