The models indicate that the weather across Hawai'i will be
changeable for the next week, with the state near the interface
between the westerlies and the trades. Eddies along this zone will
keep the surface winds shifting. The variable winds and the patchy
nature of the deep-layer moisture in this regime will tend to
preclude any one area from receiving constant showers. Five-day
QPF ending 00Z/13 Saturday from both the 00Z/07 ECMWF and 06Z/07
GFS show general tenth- to quarter-inch amounts, with the terrain
around Mauna Loa netting a few inches.
