The models indicate that Hawai'i will remain near the southern
edge of the westerlies for the next several days, with changeable
weather as eddies break off about the state. Both the 00Z/12 ECMWF
and 06Z/12 GFS show a suppression of the wet, noisy pattern by the
middle of next week as the polar jet straightens and pulls to the
north. Five-day QPF through 00Z/18 Thursday is generally a tenth-
to a quarter-inch, with a few inches in the favored
terrain--particularly the Big Island.
