The models continue to forecast noisy trades across Hawai'i for
the next week, with highly fluctuating winds and moisture with the
passage of disturbances. The 06Z/17 GFS recurves a tropical
cyclone into the heart of the Hawai'ian islands Monday August 24.
The 00Z/17 ECMWF tracks the storm south of the state without the
recurvature. Needless to say, much is riding on the fate of this
possible cyclone. Five-day QPF through 00Z/23 Sunday is generally
over a half-inch everywhere, with most of the terrain receiving
several inches of rain.
