...Focus on tropical storm Ignacio for early next week...

A rather active pattern will continue in the central Pacific over
the next week. Next few days will see a gradual diminishing of the
high PW values back toward climatology by this coming weekend.
Upper level high will remain strong just south of the Aleutians
with weaker ridging over Hawai'i through early next week. The
latest forecast from the NHC for current tropical storm Ignacio
places it east-southeast of the Big Island Sunday night. Models
and ensembles track the system west or west-northwestward on
Monday/Tuesday with a spread in tracks basically surrounding the
islands. An increase in moisture and likely QPF is quite possible
early next week even if the system weakens and never makes
landfall. Please consult the National Hurricane Center for the
