Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 749 AM EDT Sat Oct 24 2015 Valid 00Z Sun Oct 25 2015 - 00Z Sun Nov 01 2015 Weak surface flow expected through the weekend in the wake of Olaf moving away from the Islands. The tail end of the frontal boundary emanating from the powerful low deepening across the north pacific near 160-165w---well north of the island this weekend--- will push through the state Monday. Behind this front ---deep layered anticyclonic flow will build across the island chain early next week--continuing into mid week---with corresponding strengthening trades. Trades should begin to weaken Thursday ahead of the next front pushing southeastward across the central pacific. Weak trades expected into Saturday---with possible re-strengthening late next weekend. Model consensus is for Olaf to slow its northeastward push Monday-Tuesday and push back toward the west and northwest Wednesday into Friday. However---at the moment---this system should have no direct sensible weather impact--outside of potential continued swells as it will remain well to the northeast of the islands. Please refer to the Central Pacific Hurricane Center (CPHC) for the latest official forecasts for Olaf. Oravec
