The models indicate an interruption in the trades in the form of a
low closing off in the westerlies to the northwest of the main
Hawai'ian islands this weekend. Both the 00Z ECMWF and the 06Z GFS
clip Kaua'i with the deeper-layer band of moisture along the cold
front attendant to the trough, before the whole system shears away
by the middle of next week. Five-day QPF through 00Z/04 Wednesday
is generally a tenth- to a quarter-inch, with slightly higher
totals toward Kaua'i and in the terrain.
