It is still evident that a mainly transitional pattern will
prevail through early next week as strong westerlies north of the
islands slow down...amplify...and split across the eastern Pacific
due to the strong downstream block. The result will be periodic
frontal passages and/or slow-downs north of the island...including
Friday...this weekend...and again possibly early next week. This
should produce disruptions in the trades as well as periodic
increases in modest rainfall chances. A composite guidance
solution is generally preferred that emphasizes more deterministic
guidance early and ensemble guidance late.
