Ensembles show good agreement on the forecast evolution -- rising
heights mid/late week as ridging builds between Alaska and
Hawai'i. Surface high pressure will slide eastward along 25-26N
during the period, before which a weak front or shear axis will
pass through the area late Tuesday. Shower activitiy is forecast
to be generally on the light side except for windward areas of the
Big Island and Maui. By early next week, the 00Z ECMWF was most
bullish in bringing in lower heights between 150-155W while the
recent GFS runs were weaker/quicker. Ensembles would favor a
quicker solution in between the GFS and Canadian.
