Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 730 AM EST Thu Jan 28 2016 Valid 00Z Fri Jan 29 2016 - 00Z Fri Feb 05 2016 Recent guidance remain in reasonably good agreement with the forecast for Hawaii for the next week and a composite solution is favored to mitigate less predictable smaller scale forecast components. Forecast spread and uncertainty are less than average in this pattern. Surface ridging over the state on the far periphery of eastern Pacific high pressure wanes today in dry/light flow as a wavy front slowly approaches from the northwest with system pass just north of the islands. This front/showers stall near Kauai and gradually dissipates this weekend. Another shower/moisture pooling frontal approach from the northwest may struggle to reach the islands into early next week. Expect more typical trade flow to develop then with high pressure setting to the north of the islands. Schichtel
