Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 654 AM EST Sun Feb 14 2016 Valid 00Z Mon Feb 15 2016 - 00Z Mon Feb 22 2016 A ridge of high pressure builds north of the islands early this week, with low level winds turning to the east northeast. From mid to late week, relative humidity from the sfc-500 mb will drop below 50 percent. while brisk northeast flow supports a few windward showers, coverage will be widely scattered and amounts light due to limited available moisture. Next weekend Hawaii will have a trough of low pressure move through as a front approaches from the northwest. The approaching front should weaken as it passes through during the first half of the week. An associated band of moisture with precipitable water values in the 1.00 to 1.25 inch range will support a few showers in advance of the frontal passage next weekend. Petersen
