Near normal sensible weather conditions are expected to accompany
the broad weather pattern through the end of next week, with the
trades weakening through Saturday as the next cold front passes,
then resuming through the middle of next week. Scattered windward
showers will also occur periodically. Overall, the pattern is
comprised of a slowly expanding upper high west of the islands
with a compensating upper trough of split flow east of the
islands. The solution spread is near average, with the ensemble
means showing the best agreement, while the 06z gfs weakens the
upper high more quickly by late next week compared to the 00z
ecmwf, with the ensemble means more supportive of the more
persistent ecmwf scenario.
