Models show good agreement in sustaining the large and strong
upper high/upper trough couplet northeast of the islands through
the week, thus contributing to a strong and expansive region of
high pressure and therefore strong trades. The trades may weaken
by next weekend however, as the couplet weakens and lifts
northward, favoring a weak inverted trough to form near the
islands. Models are similar in the timing and strength of the
weakening pattern. Precipitation will remain scattered through the
week while favoring the windward areas.
