Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 823 AM EDT Wed Sep 07 2016 Valid 00Z Thu Sep 08 2016 - 00Z Thu Sep 15 2016 Very litte day to day fluctuations in the trade wind flow with high pressure remaining to the northeast of the islands, continuing to favor a windward focus for shower activity. A weak upper level circulation initially to the east of the state may drift near/north of the islands and provide modest enhancement of rainfall late in the week, but overall expect amounts to be in the lighter half of the spectrum. As per yesterday...moisture from lower latitudes is expected to advance northward...especially across the southern portions of the islands by early next week with GFS precipitable water values increasing from around 1.25 inches to greater than 2 inches...impacting the ability to generate qpf. Continuing to see this signal will increase confidence that this feature will have an impact. Kocin
