An upper low was currently located about 300 miles southwest of
the island chain and will continue to weaken and drift
southwestward over the next couple of days. The surface boundary
near Maui will dissipate over the next day as the upper support
diminishes, which will signal a waning of more organized rainfall.
By Wednesday, the ensembles indicate upper ridging nosing into
Kauai and building eastward Thursday, reinstating the trades but
with a mostly dry pattern. Through the weekend into next Monday,
ensembles show a rather amplified pattern across the northern
Pacific into the CONUS, but the upper ridging should hold just to
the northeast of the 50th state. Mainly light windward showers are
expected.
