A strengthening upper/sfc high to the northwest of the area and
move eastward along 30-33N this week and will keep modest trades
in the forecast. The tail end of a dying cold front (or shear
line) will bring in a PW plume toward or into the northern islands
late this week into the weekend. The ECMWF has been farther south
with this moisture plume than the GFS over the past few days but
the trend in the GFS was farther south. Prefer a solution nearer
to the ECMWF given its more consistent forecast. Still, the
literal ECMWF forecast calls for a narrow band of still generally
light showers along this axis through Kauai into Oahu this weekend.
