Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 800 AM EDT Tue Jun 06 2017 Valid 00Z Wed Jun 07 2017 - 00Z Wed Jun 14 2017 A strong 594dm upper ridge/surface high to the northwest of the area will gradually proceed downstream to north of the islands, about 30-33N, and weaken over the upcoming weekend. This will generally keep modest easterly flow and trades in the forecast. A general east to west cold front (or shear line) will drop south toward the state on Friday. As a result, a narrow PW plume will reach the northern/northwestern portion of the islands, which could result in some enhanced shower activity especially near Kauai Friday into the early part of the weekend. Otherwise expect isolated to scattered windward shower activity for the state through the weekend before flow shifts southeasterly and a dry spell develops for early next week. Musher
