Northern stream shortwave energy/height falls dig into a mean
mid-upper level trough position over/east of the state this week
downstream of a amplified north-central Pacific ridge in a blocky
pattern. Frontal passage Tue/Wed may offer some showers, but
otherwise expect a steady decrease moisture and showers statewide
as strong post-frontal surface high pressure builds and settles to
the north of the state. In this pattern, expect an increase to
brisk trades with only limited windward terrain showers. Model and
ensemble solutions cluster well over the next week, bolstering
forecast confidence with a preferred composite solution.
