Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 826 AM EDT Tue Apr 10 2018 Valid 00Z Wed Apr 11 2018 - 00Z Wed Apr 18 2018 A cold front and plume of moisture over the Islands will continue to weaken on Tuesday while surface high pressure builds into the north. The dome of high pressure should slide eastward later this week, allowing another frontal boundary (associated with an upper trough crossing the northern Pacific) to approach the Islands on Friday. Model guidance is in good agreement that the boundary and best axis of moisture should stay northwest of the Islands, and deterministic and ensemble guidance also continue to show good agreement that a weak upper low closing off just west/northwest of the island chain this weekend should retrograde westward as another strong surface high builds in north of the Islands early next week.
