Moderate to fresh trades will persist across Hawaii through early
next week on the southern periphery of an area of surface high
pressure. A relatively weak easterly wave will traverse the state
Sun into Mon with some slight enhancement in shower activity
possible, primarily on favored windward terrain. Trades should
weaken a bit by the middle of next week as the surface high north
of the state slides east, relaxing the pressure gradient a bit
across the Central Pacific. Models show the potential for another
easterly wave to reach Hawaii by next weekend, increasing moisture
and winds once again.
