...Major Hurricane Lane to pass just south of Hawaii middle
through late week...

General trade conditions prevail over Hawaii early week under
lingering northeast Pacific high pressure. Looming is Hurricane
Lane that has strengthened to category 4 status over the tropical
Pacific near 12.9N 142.3W at 09 UTC and is packing maximum
sustained winds of 110 knots with gusts to 135 knots. The Central
Pacific Hurricane Center tracks Lane to the south of the state
middle through late week. Expect deeper moisture will fuel heavier
showers mainly to the Big Island as pressure gradients and winds
increase between high pressure to the north and Lane. Please
