Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 815 AM EDT Sat Sep 01 2018 Valid 00Z Sun Sep 02 2018 - 00Z Sun Sep 09 2018 An upper low currently to the northwest of Hurricane Miriam will continue to move westward, helping to guide Miriam well east and northeast of Hawaii. Trades will be on the lighter side as the upper low drifts to the northwest over the weekend into early next week past 20N/150W. Mainly light windward/mauka showers are expected over the weekend into early next week. During mid week, both the GFS and ECMWF have an increase in available precipitable water, so amounts and coverage of showers increase. Then later in the week we will be tracking the progress on Norman and if it will have any impacts on Hawaii. To the east, please consult the latest information from the the Central Pacific Hurricane Center on Miriam, and the NHC on Norman and current Tropical Depression 17-E. Petersen
