Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 820 AM EDT Fri Oct 05 2018 Valid 00Z Sat Oct 06 2018 - 00Z Sat Oct 13 2018 Hurricane Walaka will continue to lift northward well away from Hawai'i but trades will veer to southeasterly over most of the islands for the start of the weekend and even south-southeasterly over the western islands as the trailing trough behind Walaka attempts to push eastward. The ensembles show the main moisture channel just west of Kauai into next week and a showery pattern will remain for the island chain as precipitable water values remain about 1-3 standard deviations above average. PW values will fall back to more typical levels by the middle of next week as an upper low forms along 150W to the northeast of the state. Trades will weaken a bit next Thu/Fri and become ENE in an otherwise typical pattern of light windward/mauka showers. Fracasso
