Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 730 AM EST Tue Nov 06 2018 Valid 00Z Wed Nov 07 2018 - 00Z Wed Nov 14 2018 Through much of the work week, expect normal and light trade winds across the Hawaiian islands as high pressure in the East Pacific drifts slowly northeastward. Showers along windward-facing slopes should also gradually decrease as well through the week. The guidance continues to show relatively good agreement in an upper trough amplifying to the north of the state with a leading cold front approaching and crossing the main islands from the northwest later in the week. Ahead of the front, expect an increase in showery activity this weekend, with some locally enhanced precipitation possible. Following the frontal passage, expect a return to normal easterly trades early next week, albeit a bit brisk. Windward-focused showers along favored terrain should also continue. Santorelli
