Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 730 AM EST Wed Nov 14 2018 Valid 00Z Thu Nov 15 2018 - 00Z Thu Nov 22 2018 A rather typical trade wind pattern can be expected through much of this week across the Hawaiian Islands as a cold front passes well to the north and high pressure builds across the region. Models and ensembles continue to show upper troughing (or a possible weak cut off low as advertised by the 06z GEFS mean) moving across the state, increasing precipitable water values and showery activity for mainly windward locations this weekend. Light to locally modest rainfall is possible. Upper heights again build across the region by the beginning of next week with trades weakening and showers subsiding. Santorelli
