Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 730 AM EST Tue Nov 20 2018 Valid 00Z Wed Nov 21 2018 - 00Z Wed Nov 28 2018 Guidance remains in good agreement with the synoptic pattern to affect Hawaii over the next week. Fresh to strong trade winds should prevail through the midweek as a strong subtropical high passes to the north then northeast of the state. Winds over the state will gradually weaken through later week the high settles over the eastern Pacific. Heading into the weekend, models and ensembles show the approach of a cold front to the northwest of the islands. This should allow for some moisture influx into the state downstream in response that may fuel terrain-enhanced showery weather, with drier conditions more likely into early next week. Schichtel
