A cold front will approach Kauai late Monday or early Tuesday but
stall to the northwest. Ensembles and latest GFS/ECMWF keep the
majority of the rainfall just north and west of the area as the
upper trough pulls to the northeast. Upper heights will slowly
rise starting midweek as trades become weak out of the
east-southeast to east. By next weekend, troughing is forecast
around 140W and Hawai'i should remain fairly quiet as the tail end
of a cold front may slip through the islands with little effect
except for a shift and increase in winds to the northeast.
