A fairly weak front will push through the area today and trades
will increase behind it and remain elevated for most of the week
amid a stronger than average pressure gradient. Upper troughing
will remain to the northeast of Hawai'i next week with upper
ridging near the Dateline, which favors a drier than average
pattern. A small weakness aloft will linger over and to the
southwest of the Aloha state from midweek onward which may help
increase shower activity. Showers will favor windward/mauka areas
with some spillover to leeward areas via stronger trades. Models
and ensembles were in good agreement and a blended solution should
suffice.
