The guidance continues to show good agreement that high pressure
north of the state will slide southeastward and weaken as mean
troughing becomes established over the east-central Pacific. A
leading vigorous shortwave passing to the north will push a cold
front into the main islands by Thursday bringing an increase in
clouds and mainly light windward/mountain showery activity.
Trailing high pressure should trade winds brisk this weekend
before another possible shortwave/cold front approaches the
islands early next week. Models and ensembles show bigger
disagreement in timing of this system, though a return of
increased moisture and rain showers should return by early next
week ahead of the approaching boundary.
