Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 830 AM EDT Tue May 07 2019 Valid 00Z Wed May 08 2019 - 00Z Wed May 15 2019 An anomalously deep closed upper low will continue to lift northeastward from the state today along with the core of coldest air aloft. This will leave a drier pattern with a weak residual mean trough over the area the next couple of days, with light winds and the likelihood of daily sea and land breezes with some showers. Modest high pressure cells bridging to the north of the state later this week into early next week may incrementally act to increase trades and moisture during the period in advance of a frontal approach held to the northwest of the islands, but shower activity over Hawaii may be limited under ridging aloft.
