A narrow surge in precipitable water values to the east of the Big
Island associated with a surface trough will move through the
eastern islands on Sunday and linger through Wednesday. Upper
ridging is forecast to strengthen atop the region starting midweek
next week which will diminish the chance of windward/mauka showers
over the Big Island but increase trades as surface high pressure
increases to the northwest of Kauai and moves eastward Wed-Fri
next week. Rainfall will be on the light side on favored
windward/mauka areas. Models/ensembles were in good agreement
through the period.
