A narrow surge in precipitable water values to the east of the Big
Island associated with a surface trough will move through the
eastern islands on Sunday and linger through Wednesday.
Windward/mauka showers are expected but should generally be on the
light side. Upper ridging is forecast to strengthen atop the
region starting midweek next week which will increase trades as
surface high pressure strengthens to the northwest of Kauai and
moves eastward Wed-Fri next week. Rainfall will be on the light
side on favored windward/mauka areas but will remain light due to
a rather stable atmosphere. Models/ensembles were in good
agreement through the period.
