Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 814 AM EDT Tue Jul 09 2019 Valid 00Z Wed Jul 10 2019 - 00Z Wed Jul 17 2019 The remnants of tropical cyclone Barbara will continue to move westward south of Hawaii, pulling away from the state by Wed. In the wake of this feature, broad subtropical upper-level ridging will dominate the weather across Hawaii through much of the next week. Trades will initially be relatively light (10-15 kt), gradually increasing into the 15-25 kt range by the early to middle portion of next week as surface high pressure strengthens north of the state. The GFS and ECMWF show consensus that a weak tropical wave may affect Hawaii early next week, bringing an increase in moisture and shower activity late Sun into Mon, before drier air once again spreads across Hawaii in the wake of the wave by the middle of next week.
