Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 822 AM EDT Wed Jul 17 2019 Valid 00Z Thu Jul 18 2019 - 00Z Thu Jul 25 2019 The guidance shows excellent agreement in a strong upper high to the north of the region weakening and sauntering eastward this week, steering a more southern upper low by the 50th state Wednesday/today while a more poleward upper low passes north of the archipelago Thursday into Friday before settling west-southwest into the Papahanaumokuakea National Marine Monument into mid next week. The second upper low appears to guide the remains of Tropical Depression 04E closeby but to the south of the islands late Thursday into Friday. Moisture availability/shower activity returns towards typical trade wind regime norms this weekend into Monday. Another low-level disturbance in the trade wind flow, within the inflow band of a system well southwest of Mexico/south of California currently, approaches the Island of Hawai'i next Tuesday and Wednesday. Periods of enhanced showers and trades are expected during the next week in association with any of these features. Roth
