Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 830 AM EDT Fri Aug 16 2019 Valid 00Z Sat Aug 17 2019 - 00Z Sat Aug 24 2019 It appears that the semi-permanent subtropical high centered near 30N latitude will continue to dominate the Hawaiian Islands through the end of next week. There have been indications for a tropical wave to pass near Hawaii toward the middle of next week. Major global models have trended weaker/less-defined regarding this feature. In addition, its predicted track has trended farther to the south. Nevertheless, some increase in precipitable water can be expected by Tuesday into Wednesday as the bulk of the moisture is expected to pass south of the islands. Otherwise, expect typical trade wind conditions with some terrain-enhanced showers for the rest of the period. Kong
