Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 830 AM EDT Sat Aug 24 2019 Valid 00Z Sun Aug 25 2019 - 00Z Sun Sep 01 2019 It appears that typical trade wind pattern will prevail through much of next week. A mid to upper-level cut-off low with scattered thunderstorms will pass well north of the islands and rejoin the westerlies during the next few days with little impacts on the weather in Hawaii. The subtropical high pressure system will continue to dominate the weather early next week. By the middle of next week, the tail end of a cold front dipping down from the higher latitudes should result in some slackening of the trade winds. Toward the end of next week, a lingering upper-level low west of Hawaii will appear to pull upper-level moisture northward from the ITZC with little impacts on Hawaii's weather. By next weekend, a weak wave in the easteries could approach the Big Island, possibly with a slight increase in rain chances. Kong
