Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 828 AM EDT Mon Sep 23 2019 Valid 00Z Tue Sep 24 2019 - 00Z Tue Oct 01 2019 Tropical moisture will continue to be drawn into the region as an upper-level low drifts west-northwest of the islands, meanwhile high pressure anchored northeast of the region will allow a slightly less moist air mass to begin infiltrating. The trade winds are expected to increase during this time. This moisture axis will be slow in shifting from east to west and is expected to stall over the western islands by the end of the week. This will help maintain numerous shower activity across the eastern islands early on then the activity begins to diminish while likely resulting in periods of heavy rainfall over the western islands midweek and beyond.
