Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 823 AM EDT Sun Oct 06 2019 Valid 00Z Mon Oct 07 2019 - 00Z Mon Oct 14 2019 A pair of low pressure systems will send a dissipating cold front towards the islands early this week, bringing an increase in mainly windward showers. More normal trade winds should return mid week with some breezy conditions possible. Models continue to show consensus on a broad tropical wave/disturbance to approach the island nation from the East later next week. Details remain unresolved on this system still, but there is at least agreement on a surge of deeper tropical moisture (the GFS and ECMWF show PWs in excess of 2 inches). This should result in increased showery activity, especially for the southern most islands and along windward facing terrain. Drier and stable conditions should follow into next weekend as high pressure settles in from the north. Santorelli
