Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 830 AM EDT Tue Oct 15 2019 Valid 00Z Wed Oct 16 2019 - 00Z Wed Oct 23 2019 As the remnants of Ema is expected to dissipate well to the northwest of Hawaii, models show excellent agreement that moisture from a cold front will dip southwestward across the western islands of Hawaii on Wednesday. Some increase in shower activities along with the possibililty of a few thunderstorms is expected over the western islands on Wednesday as a mid to upper level low is forecast to develop. For the remainder of the week, a gradual decrease in rain chances is expected as the disturbance moves west of the area and drier air from the subtropical high pushes in. This will favor a return of increasing island trades with modest daily windward terrain-focusing showers under a re-emerging ridge aloft. Kong
