A brief surge of higher precipitable water values is likely into
Thursday as an upper level disturbance (500mb height anomalies of
-2 and -2.5 sigma) passes through aloft. This brings the chance
for heavier/enhanced shower and rain activity to mainly the Big
Island. General troughing remains over the state the rest of the
week with weaker trade winds and continued windward showers.
Conditions should dry as heights begin to briefly rise this
weekend, though another trough looks to push towards the region by
early next week carrying a surface cold front towards the
northwest Islands.
