Modest showery activity can be expected through Friday as a
weakening cold front shifts from northwest to southeast across
Hawaii. Breezy to gusty trade winds should return this weekend,
and last through much of next week as high pressure builds to the
north. Precipitation should favor windward facing coastlines.
Models and ensembles continue to agree that an upper level low may
linger east of the Big Island next week, which could draw deeper
moisture up from the ITCZ. This would result in increased
precipitation for mainly portions of the Big Island and Maui,
though confidence in the details of this is still low at this
point in time.
