Trades will slacken a bit Tuesday into Wednesday and veer to the
SE late in the week. A front will approach the region from the
northwest late this week into this weekend but upper ridging
(heights around 5880m) will likely hold over the region, allowing
the front to possibly just stall over or near Kauai.
Models/ensembles generally show below normal precipitable water
values (around an inch or less) this week but perhaps with a brief
rise in moisture over the Big Island from the southeast Thu/Fri.
PW values around 1.25 inches could be realized near the front.
Generally light windward/mauka showers are expected with some
modest enhancement around the frontal boundary.
