Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 237 AM EST Tue Feb 04 2020 Valid 00Z Wed Feb 05 2020 - 00Z Wed Feb 12 2020 Trade winds will veer southeasterly Tuesday into Wednesday ahead of a cold front approaching the islands. This front will traverse the islands from north to south and with ample moisture availability ahead of the front, should result in scattered to widespread showers and a few thunderstorms. Behind the front, cool and gusty northerly winds prevail into the weekend, slowly shifting northwestward by early next week. Models show good agreement that a second, possibly stronger, upper level low will drop towards the state in about a weeks time, bringing more increased precipitation chances to the Hawaiian islands.
