Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 231 AM EST Wed Feb 12 2020 Valid 00Z Thu Feb 13 2020 - 00Z Thu Feb 20 2020 Models and ensembles continue to be very similar for most aspects of the forecast during the next seven days. Continued southwestward motion of the upper low/surface reflection initially crossing the state on early Wednesday will allow a more typical trade pattern to become established through the middle of next week. A well-advertised band of moisture will cross the state from east to west during Thursday/Friday and could enhance the windward-focused showers somewhat. Once this moisture departs, most guidance anticipates precipitable water values declining to about one inch during the early-mid week time frame--helping to keep rainfall totals on the lighter side of the spectrum. Fairly brisk trades from the east-southeast late this week should trend more easterly by the weekend or early next week. Winds may become a little stronger and east-northeasterly toward midweek as high pressure migrates across the central Pacific. Rausch
