Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 314 AM EST Mon Mar 02 2020 Valid 00Z Tue Mar 03 2020 - 00Z Tue Mar 10 2020 Upper low over the islands this weekend will weaken early this week as it rotates around an upper high to the northeast. At the surface, models continue to show a ~1040mb high settling well north of the state, and the resulting strong pressure gradient across Hawaii will yield breezy trades into the beginning of next week, with a brief break Wednesday-Friday as heights begin to rise again. A second high pressure center builds north of the state next weekend, bringing a return to gusty winds and showery activity. A cold airmass over the state on Monday may continue to support snow in the highest elevations. Showery weather, can be expected through the middle of the week, especially for windward locations. By mid to late next week, with the upper low likely disintegrated and heights rising, rainfall amounts and coverage should decrease. Santorelli
